MARIELLA MARANGI
PhD student
Mariella Marangi received the Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Natural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Bari in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Her research activity for the preparation of the Bachelor experimental thesis was focused on the chemical modification of diatoms microalgae for bioremediation, whereas during the Master’s thesis she got experience in the detection of diagnostic markers in human breath of patients affected by lung cancer via GC/MS spectrometry. In 2020 she also received the Master’s Degree of the High Level School RIBOCO on strategies of treatment and analysis of industrial wastes organized by the Biology Department of the University of Bari. In this frame, she attended the Environmental Chemistry Laboratory of the Scientific and Technological Pole (PST) Magna Graecia of the University of Bari, placed in Taranto, gaining experience in the field of analytical methods for detection of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in water, atmosphere, and soils. Currently, she is PhD student in Chemical and Molecular Sciences, under the supervision of prof. Roberta Ragni, with a scholarship funded by T&A Tecnologia & Ambiente srl for the research on green strategies of chemical treatment and valorization of industrial waste products.
