CESAR VICENTE-GARCIA
PhD student
Cesar Vicente-Garcia (Spain, 1994) obtained his B.S. in Chemistry in 2016 and B.S. in Biochemistry in 2018 at the University of Navarre. He received his Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry in 2019 at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he worked in the Tortosa group, under the supervision of Dr. Ignacio Colomer, on the characterization of amphiphilic molecules and their supramolecular structures, in pursuit of studying their autocatalytic activity in connection with the origin of life. In 2020 he enrolled as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Gianluca Maria Farinola at the University of Bari Aldo Moro. His work is framed within the ITN-Marie Curie Network “Bioinspired and Bionic Materials for Enhanced Photosynthesis” (BEEP), and involves the chemical functionalization of diatom microalgae for the development bionic diatoms with enhanced abilities and suitable for the obtaining of tailored light-respomsive materials.
